It went down to the wire, but Minnesota State Mankato came up just short in a 48-40 loss to West Florida in the NCAA Division II football final on Saturday.
The Mavericks final drive stalled at the winner’s 17 yard line.
Mankato, the top team in the Northern Sun Conference, finishes the year 14-1 while champ West Florida went 13-2.
MSU finished with 562 yards of offense, including 419 through the air.
