Opponents have bottled up debate on a bill that would mandate Nebraska students receive the two-shot meningitis vaccine.
State Senator Mike Groene of North Platte sees no need to require the vaccination.
Senator Bob Krist of Omaha sponsored the measure that would require a second follow-up shot at age 16.
Opponents, though, see no need for a mandate. They prefer education, leaving it to parents to decide whether their children get vaccinated.
Debate will continue.
