There will likely be a major push to legalize recreational marijuana in 2019 with Democrats taking control of the Minnesota House. Representative Mike Freiberg of Golden Valley says he introduced a bill last session to start the conversation using a “public health” approach
Freiberg says advocates would like to be able to grow their own marijuana and he’s open to considering it. His bill did not dedicate the additional tax revenues. Governor-elect Tim Walz has indicated support for recreational cannabis.
