Major Ag Initiative Launched For Minnesota And Iowa

Officials from Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa announced Monday a new initiative to build on existing ag businesses and market the area as an epicenter of premier ag business. It’s called the Green Seam and was launched in Mankato, Minnesota.. Associated Milk Producers Incorporated Co President and CEO Sheryl Meshke says their intention is to market the region as the Silicon Valley of Agriculture.

She says there’s a wide and diverse agriculture industry in the Green Seam they’ll be marketing and AMPI is a big part of that.

Meshke says they intend to sell products from these ag businesses both domestically and globally.

Agriculture is currently the largest business industry segment within the Green Seam region with more than $ 15. 3 billion in sales annually. They have nearly 1,000 ag related businesses in the Southern Minnesota Northern Iowa region.
