The Minnesota Lynx drafted five players in the three rounds of the WNBA Draft Wednesday, although the rights to one was later dealt.
The first round pick of the Lynx was UConn’s Napheesa Collier with the sixth overall selection.
In the second round, the Lynx took Jessica Shepard of Notre Dame, Cierra Dillard of Buffalo and Natisha Hiedeman of Marquette. Hiedeman was later traded to Connecticut for guard Lexie Brown.
The Lynx third round pick was Kenisha Bell of the Minnesota Gophers.
Other area players selected included Iowa’s Megan Gustafson in round two by Dallas and Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton by Connecticut.
