Gasoline prices are steadily dropping in Nebraska and they’ve fallen almost 30-cents a gallon since early June. Gail Weinholzer, spokeswoman for Triple-A-Nebraska, says prices statewide are now averaging three-39 a gallon, which is eight-cents below the national average. Weinholzer says prices at the pump dropped almost every single day in July and they’re still inching downward in August.
Weinholzer says it should be smooth sailing as the summer driving season winds down.
Nebraska’s most expensive gas is in North Platte, where the average is three-47 a gallon. The cheapest gas is in Grand Island at three-26. Nebraska set a record for its most pricey gas in July of 2008 at four-ten a gallon.
