A group of local officials, and state lawmakers got an update on the Keystone crude oil pipeline spill in Marshall County, in northeast South Dakota.
Senator Jason Frerichs of Wilmot, says there is lots of activity at the site near Amherst……
Frerichs says they got a close look at the equipment that may have contributed to the oil leak…..
The concrete saddle sits on top of the pipe, to keep it from rising due to groundwater.
Frerichs says he still has questions about the leak, and preventing future ones….
Frerichs says he will introduce bills in the next session of the legislature dealing with spill clean ups, and assessing future repair costs.
