Livestock producers are getting an extra shot of federal pandemic relief monies through the CFAP. USDA announced it’s releasing funds authorized earlier but held up until the Biden administration reviewed it. Minnesota Cattlemen’s Association President Grant Breitkreutz says it’s great producers are finally getting the relief help they need.

South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association Executive Director Jodie Anderson says producers can use the government help which should help them recover from the pandemic’s impacts.

Breitkreutz says the second round of aid wasn’t expected but will be useful for producers.

Anderson says there are still some questions about federal aid that need to be answered but overall the USDA announcement is positive.

The next enrollment for CFAP 2 is set for April 5..
