Wednesday, the U.S. Senate passed the Minibus Appropriations bill. United States Cattlemen’s Association’s Policy and Outreach Director Lia Biondo says included in that was a one year delay for livestock haulers to meet Electronic Logging Device Rules.

She says the delay is needed so that they can get legislation passed to correct the impacts of ELD on livestock haulers and also work for a permanent solution.

Biondo says the extra delay also gives her group time to educate regulators and Congress about how livestock hauling needs to be handled.

Biondo says her group has been working on this issue since 2016 and won’t stop until the overreaching regulations are amended.
