Monday night, Farm Bill negotiators approved a five year farm bill that will be voted on by the House on Wednesday.  The measure left the Country of Origin Labeling rule intact. U.S. livestock groups say they are opposing passage of the farm bill. NCBA President Scott George says it will lead to Canada and Mexico retaliating against the United States.

National Pork Producers President Randy Spronk of Edgerton, Minnesota says his group is asking for defeat of the farm bill also due to retaliatory concerns.

Spronk says there is a list of at least a dozen U.S. pork products that Canada says they’ll retaliate against.
