Lincoln County South Dakota Commissioners tabled a proposed wind ordinance this week that called for a three-quarter mile setback for wind turbines and decibel level controls. Dakota Power Community Wind Project proponent Brian Minish is pleased they decided to table the regulation and take it up again in February.
He says he and Dakota Power officials are opposed to a three-quarter mile setback.
Minish says they can agree with having the ordinance require the decibel level requirement for wind turbines be set at 50 daytime and 45 at night.
Minish says he and Dakota Power Wind officials are willing to meet with Commissioners between now and the February meeting to answer any questions and further explain their ordinance concerns.
