Last week, Lincoln County South Dakota Commissioners proposed a compromise to an earlier proposal by the planning and zoning commission calling for a three quarter of a mile setback for wind projects. County resident Brian Minish, who’s in favor of the Dakota Power Community Wind project, is disappointed with the new setback plan.
He says the reasons given for the setback proposal don’t make sense and are based on opinion and not solid facts.
Minish says the economic development created by the Dakota Power Wind Community Project would bring many benefits to Lincoln County.
Minish says because a new proposal was brought forward with the three quarter a mile setback, the Commission will have to bring it up for consideration again at their meeting on December 27.
