The Lincoln County Commission will again consider a new, proposed set back of three quarters of a mile for any new wind power developments at their meeting later this month.
That setback was initially approved last month following weeks of debate.
Winnie Peterson of the group “We Care-SD” who opposes the wind project, says the county is in the midst of a zoning review right now….
Peterson says the zoning board won’t have to review the changes made by the county commission…..
Dakota Power Community Wind has proposed a one thousand megawatt wind farm for the county, promising jobs and tax revenue. Peterson says those aren’t needed….
Supporters say the three-quarter mile set back will kill the project, and is not based on sound science.
