The Lincoln County Commission this week voted on a compromise setback for wind power towers at three quarters of a mile. The Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended a one mile setback.

Winnie Peterson, with the group “We Care-SD” says they don’t support the compromise…..

Dakota Community Wind has proposed a one thousand megawatt wind farm in Lincoln County.

Peterson says they will continue to push the process….

Peterson’s group opposes the wind project development.
She says the ordinance now is incomplete….

The wind development was projected to connect to the “Clean Line” transmission facility in Iowa when it was completed.
