The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System has been able to complete more sections of pipelines and pump houses with a patchwork of dollars from the states involved, while federal funding continues to lag.
Executive Director Troy Larson says they are still waiting on Congress to finalize their budget for this year….

Larson says they have to wait on money from the Bureau of Reclamation…..

Larson says the federal funding they get is far short of what they need….

The project is about two thirds done, and will cost over five hundred million dollars when done. The project pumps water from wells near Vermillion, and distributes it to towns and cities in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.
