The South Dakota Water Management Board will review future water rights applications at their meeting next month.
The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System will be asking to renew permits that give them rights to about thirteen thousand-acre feet of water from aquifers near the Missouri River.
Lewis & Clark Executive Director Troy Larson says they want to make sure they have the water available for future growth….
Larson says they would have to add more wells to take advantage of the water rights…..
Larson says it will be awhile before they need the extra water…..
Those water permits have to be renewed every seven years.
