The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System is in line for a major bump in construction funding from the federal infrastructure bill.
The tri state water project has about one hundred forty million dollars in outstanding construction to get water to all their members.
Executive Director Troy Larson says they will have to scramble to get the supplies they need…..
Larson says they have mapped out a number of construction plans that are near shovel ready….
Larson says rising inflation will add to their construction costs….
Larson says even the one hundred forty million dollars won’t be quite enough to finish the system.
The project pipes water to cities and towns in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota from wells near the Missouri River south of Vermillion.
