The effects of mild fall and winter weather are evident in the bodies of water that are still open.
Dave Becker, Operations Manager for the Corps of Engineers at Gavins Point Dam near Yankton, says Lewis & Clark Lake is still ice free….
Becker says it takes some stretches of cold weather to freeze the lake, which hasn’t happened yet…..
Becker says even when ice does form on the lake, it can still be dangerous….
Releases from Gavins Point Dam have been dialed back to winter levels of about nineteen thousand cubic feet per second.
