Nominations are now being accepted for South Dakota’s Leopold Conservation Award. The award is presented by the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association, Grassland’s Coalition and Sand County Foundation. Cattlemen’s Executive Director Jodie Anderson says they’re looking for a private landowner who’s willing to talk about the conservation efforts he or she has made on their operation.

She says they’ll be taking nominations up until March 6 of 2017.

Anderson says they have a committee made up of conservation experts including the previous year’s Leopold winner who decide on who will receive the award.

Nominations can be mailed to Leopold Conservation Award, care of South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association.
