Legislators to Study HSC Nursing Home

A major legislative study of mental health services and access in South Dakota has been split into several sub-committees.

One dealing with the nursing home at the Human Services Center will be chaired by Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton.

She says the nursing home is a labor intensive part of the HSC…

Hunhoff says other units at HSC have been closed as employees are moved to the nursing home…

Hunhoff says they will look at the capability of local nursing homes to take those patients…

The nursing home piece is one of five sub-committees of the overall mental health study.
