Legislative Auditor Highlights “Deep” Problems at Minnesota OHFC

Problems at the Minnesota Office of Health Facility Complaints (OHFC) have been “deep” and “pervasive.” So said Legislative Auditor Jim Nobles in a report to lawmakers on the state’s handling of abuse allegations of vulnerable adults. Nobles said the problems are

 

The report shows there were more than 24,000 complaints in Fiscal Year 2017, and only five-percent were investigated. It also shows that on average it took 38 days for OHFC to interview a victim after a complaint was filed.
