Nebraska Cattlemen Association members are supporting LB 106, the Livestock Operation and Siting Expansion Act. The measure introduced by State Senator Dan Watermaier is intended to create an environment friendly for livestock expansion and still maintain local control for county zoning boards. Cattlemen’s Legislative Director Laura Field says it’s one of their priority bills.

Field says LB 106 adds a new system for helping provide counties scientific and uniform information they can use in determining whether or not to allow livestock expansion.

Field says LB 106 is a positive piece of legislation that will benefit livestock producers if it’s approved.
