Leaders of the House and Senate Ag Committees says they have agreed to a deal on the farm bill in principal. House Ag Committee Chair Mike Conaway says they are pleased with this development.

He says with the lame duck session coming to a close they are pushing hard to get the bill to the Senate and House floors and across the finish line.

Conaway says staff is currently working behind the scenes on the details of the bill.

If Congress doesn’t get the farm bill passed during the lame duck the new Congress will have to start over and they want to avoid that.
