A measure that would create an electrical employee licensing exemption for farm building construction could come up in the Nebraska Unicameral this week. LB 921 is being carried by State Senator John Lowe of Kearney and backed by the Nebraska Farm Bureau. Director of State Government Relations Ansley Mick says the requirement needs to be eased so it’s more workable for farmers and ranchers expanding their operations.

She says the current law also needs clarification.

Mick says LB 921 has already passed out of committee and is set to be heard on the floor of the Unicameral.

However, Mick says action on the measure could get delayed as Senators are also considering the state budget bill this week.
