House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rob Bishop and others are looking at reforming and rolling back the Endangered Species Act. Bishop says the act has never rehabilitated species and has been used for land control. Nebraska Cattlemen Association Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs Jessica Herrmann agrees with the Chairman and backs efforts to rework the rule.

She says her group believes species need to be protected. However, the Endangered Species Act has gone beyond those aims.

Herrmann says the Endangered Species Act and other regulations like WOTUS have been examples of federal overreach that need to be delegated back to state control.

Herrmann says the Nebraska Cattlemen Association will weigh in with their Congressional delegation on the Endangered Species Act and other regulatory roll backs as they come up before Congress.
