The South Dakota Rancher’s Relief Fund is sending out the final disbursement of its donations to help producers hurt by last October’s blizzard. A steering committee made up of representatives of the South Dakota Stock Growers, Cattlemen’s and Sheep Grower’s Associations have decided to send out the assistance and close the fund June 1. Stock Grower’s Executive Director Silvia Christen says thanks to the generous donations of many, the fund has made a difference for ranchers hit by the storm.
Christen says they received a number of applications for help from ranchers in mostly South Dakota and in parts of neighboring states.
Christen says the Rancher’s Relief Fund will take donations up until June first but then the fund will be closed.
