The Washington DC based group “Americans United for Change” are targeting some Nebraska Senators in a push to expand Medicaid coverage in the state.
The group is pushing for a vote on the WIN, or Wellness in Nebraska act, which may come up for a vote in the next few weeks. They have purchased advertising time in the districts of those Senators.
One of those targeted is District 40 Senator Tyson Larson of O’Neill…
The group says expanded Medicaid would generate over seven hundred million dollars in economic activity and create over ten thousand jobs in the state.
Larson says he sees more costs than benefits to Nebraska…
An expansion plan last year was filibustered. Larson says he isn’t sure the WIN act will get to a vote this year…
Other Senators included in the push are Jim Smith of District 14, and Bill Kintner of District 25.
