A bill that would have joined Nebraska to a Presidential vote compact was withdrawn from debate in the last weeks of the session.

The proposal would attempt to build a coalition of states that would pledge their electoral votes to the candidate that got the highest number of popular votes regardless of how that candidate did in that state.

Senator Tyson Larson of O’Neill designated the bill as his priority bill, but later pulled it back…

Larson says he feels it is a way that Nebraska could have an impact on Presidential elections…

Larson says he would like to bring the bill back for further debate in next year’s legislative session.
