The Summit League named South Dakota State senior Cody Larson its men’s basketball player of the week for his efforts last week in leading the Jackrabbits to wins against Fort Wayne on Wednesday and at Oral Roberts on Saturday.
Larson earns his first career player of the week honor after leading SDSU to a pair of victories and into first place in The Summit League. In a key road win at Oral Roberts, he put up a double-double with a career-high 27 points and 12 rebounds, including 16 points and 10 rebounds in the first half alone.
Larson’s totals marked both the highest point total and best combined point-rebound figure of any double-double posted in the league this season. Earlier in the week, he scored a game-high 12 points and recorded a pair of steals while playing just 21 minutes in the Jacks win over Fort Wayne.
Larson and the Jackrabbits start the second half of league play at home, starting with Omaha on Wednesday at 7 p.m., followed by Denver on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., after the SDSU women host North Dakota State at 2 p.m.
