Trans Canada officials have said they’re pulling out of the lawsuit filed by over 100 Nebraska landowners challenging their right to use eminent domain to take land for their Keystone XL Pipeline project. Landowner’s Attorney Dave Domina says landowners he represents are relieved by the company’s action.
Domina says Trans Canada needed to respond to the court on Wednesday this week. He thinks they saw the writing on the wall and didn’t think they could win the case.
Domina says Trans Canada officials say now they’ll go through the process of going through the state public service commission in trying to get approval for their Nebraska route for the pipeline.
