Tomorrow, Minnesota Land Stewardship Project members are hosting a meeting in Redwood Falls with House Agriculture Committee ranking member Collin Peterson. LSP’s Policy Program Director Tom Nuessmeier says they want to talk to Peterson about their priorities for the 2018 Farm Bill.

He says another priority is reforming the crop insurance program, which is a critical safety net for farmers.

Nuessmeier says farm bill programs need to be adequately funded to help producers dealing with a depressed economy. Plus, agriculture took budget cuts in previous farm bills.

The Tuesday meeting gets underway at 1 pm at the Redwood Falls Community Center.
