Mount Marty College recently announced that Tate Bruckner will be the new head softball coach at MMC, effective Jan. 3, 2017.
Bruckner, who has been serving as interim coach since the fall, is a 2014 MMC graduate who played Lancer Baseball during his undergraduate years after transferring from Northern State University.
After graduation, Bruckner worked for two years as assistant coach of MMC Baseball under head coach Andy Bernatow. From there, he accepted the position of interim coach for the Lancer Softball program. Although he enjoyed his years on the field as a player, Bruckner says the jump from athlete to coach was a welcome challenge.
