The Mount Marty College tennis programs are announcing the programs’ new head coach is Ron Briggs.
Briggs will take over the reins from Rob Klimisch who has lead the women’s tennis program for the last three years. Briggs will also begin developing the men’s tennis program at MMC.
Briggs has been an active tennis player for more than two decades and played competitively at the 3.5 level. He has a background in coaching, but spent his professional career as a healthcare administrator. Most recently he worked as the CEO of Franciscan Care Services, Inc. in West Point, Nebraska. Briggs has recently retired and has relocated to the Yankton area.
Mount Marty College Athletic Director, Chuck Iverson, is excited to see Briggs named as the new head coach of the tennis programs. “Ron is going to be a great addition to the college. We have young programs that have growing to do and the opportunities are endless. We are lucky to have Ron and his experience with the sport of tennis and are eager to see what he can do at MMC.”
Excited about the opportunity, Briggs stated, “Throughout my life I’ve always had a passion for tennis and I’m excited that I can now have this opportunity to teach the skills to others. I look forward to the challenge of building competitive men’s and women’s tennis programs at Mount Marty College.”
