Mount Marty College (MMC) in Yankton, South Dakota, has announced the commitment of four new players for men’s basketball.
Noah Huber of Clark, South Dakota; Chris Cheatham of Dallas; Trent Wilson of Sioux City, Iowa; and Daniel Campa Jr. of Tucson, Arizona, will attend MMC next fall and play for the Lancers Basketball program.
Noah Huber, a 2016 graduate of Clark High School in Clark, South Dakota, is a 6’5” center and power forward who helped lead his high school team to a fifth-place finish in the 2013 State Championship and sixth place in the 2015 State Championship. He averages 15 points per game, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal and was named 2nd Team All-State, Pentagon All-Star game participant, 1st Team NEC and 1st Team LLC. A well-rounded athlete, Huber was captain of his high school basketball and football teams, was named All-State Football and placed fourth in shot put in track and field in 2015. A four-year honor roll student, Huber — the son of Jill and Joel Huber — was named the American Legion of Auxiliary Student of Patriotism and a Regent Scholar.
Hailing from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas, Chris “Yogi” Cheatham is a 5’7” point guard and transfer student from Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Cheatham, who averages 21.5 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals per game, was the 2015 Dallas Roosevelt team captain and Team MVP. He was named 1st Team All-District in 2015 and 1st Team All-State in 2014. A well-rounded student, he also received a 1st Team All Academic Award. Cheatham, the son of Frederick Cheatham, will major in criminal justice at MMC.
A 2016 graduate of Sioux City North High School in Sioux City, Iowa, Trent Wilson is a 6’5” forward who averages 11.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, with a 52.5 percent field goal average. He was varsity captain of his high school team, a Silver Honor Roll recipient and also participated in track and field, where he competed in shot put and high jump. Wilson, the son of Jim and Angie Wilson, will major in elementary education at MMC this fall.
Daniel Campa Jr. is a 6’2” point guard and shooting guard from St. Augustine Catholic High School in Tucson, Arizona, where he averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He also boasts an 87 percent free throw average. He was named 2nd Team All-State Division 4 in 2014, as well as 2013 Honorable Mention. Campa, the son of Daniel Sr. and Norma Angelica Campa, was vice president of his senior class and a Kairos Catholic leader. He will major in business this fall at MMC.
