The Mount Marty College women’s basketball program was named a top honoree in the NAIA division on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for the 2013-14 season by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. The Lancer team, coached by Tom Schlimgen, topped the chart with a 3.746 GPA.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA; and junior/community college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point average (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2013-14 season is the 19th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
Mount Marty College, which has appeared in the Academic Top 25 list in the NAIA 16 previous years, comes in at No. 1 for the first time this year with a 3.746 GPA. The Lancers’ highest ranking on the list prior to this year was third in 2005.
