The Corps of Engineers is looking for public comments on their proposal for a rehabilitation project at Lake Yankton, just below Gavins Point Dam.
Eileen Williamson with the Corps in Omaha says the fish population in the lake has taken a turn for the worse……

Williamson says they plan to use the poison “Rotenone” to kill all the fish in the lake, then restock with game fish.
She says they want to hear from the public on the proposal…………

Williamson says they plan to quickly review the comments and move ahead……

She says they plan to kill off the fish in early September. The Nebraska Department of Game and Parks and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks will cooperate with the Corps on the lake rehabilitation.
