In recent weeks, at least seven people have died in suspected heroin overdoses in Minnesota, and there have been more than a dozen non-fatal overdoses. It’s believed the heroin circulating now is laced with fentanyl:

Drug expert Carol Falkowski says that people addicted to prescription drugs often turn to heroin because it’s cheaper and sometimes easier to get.
