Most American workers are taking Labor Day off, as a chance to reflect on their role in the US economy.
Reports show for many workers, wages have been stagnant since the 1970s.
Mark Anderson, President of the South Dakota State Federation of Labor, says only lower wage workers have seen much improvement…………

A ballot initiative would raise the states minimum wage to eight dollars fifty cents an hour, and index it to inflation.
Anderson says that would not drive prices higher for consumers………

Anderson says passing the minimum wage hike would help the state’s economy………
