Kooiker Wins Special Election

Republican John Kooiker of Boyden was the winner is yesterday’s special election in northwest Iowa’s 4th district. Kooiker got sixty one percent of the vote. Dennis Wright a republican write in candidate got twenty five percent.

The election was called after the December death of Former Representative Dwayne Alons of Hull.

Kooiker says it all happened very rapidly…

 

The legislative session begins on Monday, and Kooiker says he will have to hurry to get prepared…

 

Kookier says he is interested in a lot of state issues…

 

Kookier is 68, and farms near Boyden.
