South Dakota State University 149-pounder Alex Kocer was named Tuesday as an at-large selection to next week’s NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

A junior from Wagner, Kocer will be making his second appearance at nationals, after also qualifying in 2014. Kocer, who finished fifth at last weekend’s Big 12 Wrestling Championship, has compiled a 24-10 overall record.

Kocer is the fifth Jackrabbit to earn a trip to nationals, joining his younger brother, David, at 174 pounds, along with 141-pounder Seth Gross, 157-pounder Cody Pack and Nate Rotert at 197 pounds. The five selections for SDSU are the most for the Jackrabbits at the Division I level, with the previous high of three in both 2013 and 2015.

The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will be held March 17-19 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
