Yankton School Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle says the district should not have to ask for a property tax opt out, at least for the next few years…

 

Kindle spoke at the second “State of the Community”  luncheon yesterday.

He said circumstances could change…

 

The district has attempted two opt outs, which were both rejected by voters.

Kindle says it is only a matter of time before the school board will be back before the voters…

 

Kindle says the district continues to run a budget deficit, which they are covering by shifting reserve funds.
