Keystone XL Pipeline Approved by Trump Administration; Nebraska Still a Roadblock

The Trump Administration has signed off on the permit needed to allow construction to begin on the Keystone XL pipeline. President Obama had refused to authorize the pipe to cross the US – Canadian border.

Trans Canada has been waiting to start on the eight billion dollar project.

The pipeline will cross North and South Dakota into Nebraska on its way to the Gulf Coast.

Jane Kleeb, founder of BOLD Nebraska, and the BOLD Alliance, says Nebraska will still be a roadblock…..

The Nebraska Public Service Commission will have to certify the route for the pipeline. Kleeb says they are preparing for the hearings….

Kleeb says her group will not allow the line to be built through Nebraska……

The decision by the Trump Administration comes after years of fights between environmental opponents, and supporters of the energy industry.
