Oil shipments through the Keystone pipeline have restarted following the repair of a leak in the pipe south of Freeman.
Trans Canada spokesman Mark Cooper says they restarted the pipeline following approval from federal authorities….
Cooper says they are still investigating the root cause of the leak……
The seep leak was found at a weld joint between two types of pipe.
About four hundred barrels of oil were spilled. Cooper says they have removed all of the soil affected by the spill….
Cooper says they will come up with a plan to make a permanent repair to that section of pipeline. The Keystone pipeline moves about five hundred thousand barrels of oil a day at normal pressure.
