June Dairy Month Tours Promote Transparency

MoDak Dairy of Goodwin hosted a farm tour on Saturday one of many scheduled in South Dakota during June Dairy Month to promote transparency with consumers. Co-owner Greg Moes says they want the public to see how well they care for their animals, especially in light of the Fair Oaks Farms undercover video released last week showing inhumane practices.

Moes says they’ve been holding open houses on the farm for years to answer consumer questions and ensure them they are producing a safe product.

South Dakota Dairy Princess Ytsje Andringa says she will be attending many events to promote the industry during June and believes the farm tours are a great outreach tool.

Other June Dairy Month tours include Breakfast on the Farm this Saturday at Royalwood Dairy near Brandon. They are being hosted by Ag United.
