The Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature will meet Wednesday in Pierre.
Members will get an update on the year end budget report which shows a one hundred fifteen million dollar surplus.
Co-Chair Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says this budget was written in March of last year….

Hunhoff says while the goal is to get a near zero carry over, having a surplus is a good move…..

The committee will also get updates on current and projected state revenue forecasts.
