The announcement came on April Fools Day, but South Dakota State fans won’t be laughing if basketball star David Jenkins Junior follows through on plans to explore transfer options.

The sophomore standout released a social media statement Monday indicating he was re-opening his recruitment in the light of the recent coaching change and would explore other possibilities.
He left open the possibility of returning to SDSU depending on what he finds.

Jenkins averaged nearly 20 points a game while playing alongside all time Jackrabbit scoring leader Mike Daum. He shot 45 per cent from three point range as an All-Summit League performer.

The Jacks named Eric Henderson as their new coach last week after T.J. Otzelberger decided to accept the position at UNLV.
