James River Board Approves Improvement Projects

The James River Water Development District awarded almost three hundred thousand dollars for cost sharing projects in and near the river at their September meeting.
District Manager Dave Bartel says they can help build a number of river related projects…………

Bartel says most of the projects they help fund are designed to improve the water flow and quality in the river…………

The board will pay almost one hundred twenty thousand dollars to replace a floodgate on Crow Creek in Brown County. Bartel says that dam is about one hundred years old………

The board also approved grants for wetland restoration and shoreline erosion control.
