South Dakota State won a pair of basketball games at Frost Arena Monday with both the Jackrabbit men and women tallying non-conference victories.

All 14 Jackrabbits in uniform played at least five minutes and 13 of them scored at least two points as South Dakota State cruised to an 87-42 win over Chadron State on Monday night in front of 1,925 fans at Frost Arena.

The Jackrabbits improve to 2-2 with the win, while the Eagles fall to 1-2.

The South Dakota State University women’s basketball team opened the game with a 16-3 run and recorded a 60-49 nonconference win over Sam Houston State Monday night.

The Jacks, who snapped a two-game losing streak, were led by sophomore Kerri Young (Mitchell) and her team-high 11 points.
