South Dakota State scored three goals over a 12-minute span to defeat Oral Roberts, 3-1, in the opening game of the Summit League Women’s Soccer Championship Thursday at Fishback Soccer Park.

The third-seeded Jackrabbits, who advance to the league tournament championship match for the second year in a row, improved to 11-5-2 overall. SDSU will meet North Dakota State in the championship match at noon Saturday after the top-seeded Bison downed South Dakota, 4-3 in double overtime, in Thursday’s late game.

–It was nearly an upset Thursday night at Fishback Park as No. 4 South Dakota led No. 1 North Dakota State by one goal with three minutes to play in regulation. North Dakota State (13-5-1) would go on to both equalize and score the golden goal for a 4-3 double overtime victory.

 

South Dakota (8-12-0) concludes its first ever DI post-season run in the semifinals of the Summit League Tournament.
