South Dakota State men’s basketball used a big first half and a late-game flurry to claim a 94-80 win over Buffalo Wednesday, taking fifth at the 2017 Cayman Islands Classic.
The Jackrabbits (5-2) shot 60.9 percent from the field while hitting 10 of 21 1 3-point attempts. At the charity stripe, the Jacks sank 28 of 37 free throws.
Mike Daum led the way with 34 points, posting his 14th career 30-point game as one of three Jackrabbits to reach double figures. David Jenkins Jr. tallied 17 points to go with a team-high seven boards, while Tevin King had 10 points, six rebounds and two assists.
